they grow up way too fast

IMAG0759.jpg

I called Desert Song to sign Espen and I up for Child/Parent yoga this weekend. The girl who took the call asked Espen's age and I blurted out, 'Almost 4'. Now I know his birthday is not for another 5 months but still, to say it out loud felt funny. How can he possibly be almost 4, that's practically 6 years old and 6 years old is OLD to me for kids.

So when I got to my sisters house for lunch I had another OMG 4 year old moment. I made a comment about how cute Espen looked in his SpiderMan shirt and then I remembered something. I remembered cracking up with Allison when Espen was just a teeny tiny guy, at the Spiderman shirt she bought him. She had told me on the phone that she didn't have any idea what size to get him so she bought the smallest. The smallest size was literally a Small/Chico. Ha. At the time he was wearing probably 12-18 months and only now is he fitting in to 3T jeans. I told Allison that I would keep the shirt for when he's older...well, I guess today he's older.

I asked Espen a few days ago if he wanted a pool party again for his birthday this year and he said no...he wants a Christmas party, with Christmas trees, snow and presents. Haha! We may just have to throw a Christmas in August pool party.

looks i like for spring

Seriously, I am so sick of Winter & you can hardly call Arizona's version of Winter, Winter, but I am still sick of it. With the cold weather and lack of sun has come dark un-motivating mornings and an extra 5 pounds.

I got in my car the other day when it was 76 out and for a minute I imagined it when its 110 out and your face feels like it's going to melt away. Sounds terrible? Not at all, what it reminds me of is that I can sit in a pool every weekend and get some sun on my pale glowing skin.

I'm hoping it will be like a domino effect. 1st comes warmer weather, which means I'll need to be in a swim suit soon and more sun means getting up early, both of which will lead to exercise and eating better, which means I'll look cute in all of the fabulous Spring/Summer outfits that are hitting the stores. Oh, and somewhere in there something needs to lead to more cash flow so I can purchase fabulous Spring/Summer clothes.

SPRING

These are all from J. Crew, F21, Boden, Anthropologie & the Limited. Pretty reasonably priced to begin with, but I'll have to be sure to keep an eye out for when they go on sale.

having a blonde moment and an ode to male figure skaters

Blog it

Bye bye roots, hello blonde. Don't I look happy in this picture? Maybe a little grumpy, it was 7:30 in the morning, but the morning gloom faded away when I pulled into the McDonald's drive through for a breakfast burrito and iced coffee, so fancy. ha!

My colorist and I decided on something a little different than what she normally does and this is definitely the way to go. Just a quick 'mini partial' (I guess that's even less than a partial?) did the trick and for half the cost of what I normally get done. I was there for a fraction of the time which meant I had plenty of time to hang out with Espen before he crashed out watching the woman's half pipe with us. During each run he would stand up and slowly spin around, moving his arms up and down and then he'd bend over or roll onto the bed all while whispering the names of the 'moves' he was doing. He was acting out snowboarding. So hilarious.

Jeremy & I snuck in an episode of House before returning to the Olympics, this time for the men's free skate. Oh my god. These dudes are amazing. Their costumes had Jeremy and I cracking up. The men are so serious but they are dashing around wearing more jewels and Lycra than I ever have, or will, it's a riot. My favorite costumes so far were actually worn by a pair of skaters, Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy, the harlequin clowns (which I have seen everywhere lately).

Then there was Evan Lysacek. His snake outfit was incredible. Vera Wang? Amazing. Just like his routine. Although I was expecting Snake in the Grass to start playing and for Evan to bust out some sweet Bob Fosse type moves.

This costume is equally as creepy and awesome at the same time.

I couldn't stop myself from laughing watching his reaction when he realized he won the Gold. It wasn't like a 'thank you Jesus' moment, it was a cracking up 'is the score board kidding?' moment. He and his coaches were just laughing, it was rad.

Speaking of rad, how rad is it that it's the weekend! The only thing I have planned is Yoga tonight. The rest we'll make up as we go.

I'm fairly certain that we will be doing a bit of this over the weekend.

Missoni & Mom & Michael J. Fox

We have a wedding to go to this weekend and I was thinking about what to wear last night before I went to bed. In my dream I was getting ready for the wedding and went to pull out this 70's cream colored knit dress that I own but when I pulled it out it was this amazing Missoni Madreperla dress.

It was beautiful and fit like a glove.
I also dreamt that my mom and Michael J. Fox were spies at a tech company and were in the process of breaking into said company's building to steal some sort of micro-chip. My mom was repelling out of a window, it was intense. But, since my mom doesn't know Michael J. Fox nor does she know how to repel it must've really only been a dream and when I get ready tomorrow I'll just have to pretend I'm wearing Missoni.
