listen up, peaches

I wasn't sure if Jeremy would be able to recover from Saturday night but somehow he did and although it was a bit later in the day than we had intended we actually made it out to Schnepf Farms for their annual peach festival.

Jeremy wasn't in the mood to drive and apparently I wasn't either because not only did I miss the exit for the 60 East I also took the 202 north instead of south out in the east valley, who does that! We got to the farm with about an hour and a half to play, which really, was plenty of time. The line in the bakery was out of control, grumpy people waiting in line, not even certain that they would get a fresh baked pie. We went to the front of the line, grabbed a frozen pie and were out of there in less than 5 minutes. Not only were we able to get a peach pie, we got some ice cream & candy for Espen, fresh squeezed lemonade and some peachy delish salsa and hot sauce too! We even had time to take a hayride to the peach orchard to pick our own peaches.

By the time we got home and had dinner our pie was perfectly thawed and ready for baking and holy crap, it was the best pie I've ever had.

Disclaimer: this post is loaded with photos of Espen. ha.

And on a side note, this morning before Jeremy left for work he set up Espen's big brown bear at his desk and when Espen saw it he went insane. It was SO funny. He quickly went from cracking up to teacher mode, explaining to me that he needs to teach his bear how to play games on his dad's computer...

encanto park

Last week my mom and sister and I took the boys to Encanto Park's Enchanted Island. I had never been before, my mom and sister used to take the boys a lot last year so I was excited to finally see it for myself. The park is awesome, it's like a fairground for kids year round. They have fair rides, a carousel and a train. After spending a couple of hours there we headed back to my sister's for a happy meal picnic in the driveway and gabbing away for hours while the boys messed around. Such a good day...

saturday afternoon in LA

The boys woke up slightly hungover from the night before so Katy and I were outside enjoying the California sun & eating grapes with Espen when the joined us outside. After a bit of recouping we decided to head downtown to get some delish Mexican food from the Grand Central Market, what better way to cure a hangover.

First we stopped by Georges place to tour his amazing home (which is for sale, wish I could afford it). So to say that his place is 'cool' is an understatement. At one point I had to let him know that his place, to be honest, was almost too cool. I mean, it's a huge open loft with with with views of Pershing Square, guitars and amps, gadgets and books...vintage toys an old mach meter from gutted out old plane. His home is beautiful, I'd move there in a heart beat.

We ran up to the roof to check out the views but didn't stay long since we were all starving. When we made it to Grand Central I was immediately overwhelmed. I had Espen with me and there were people everywhere and all of the food looked AMAZING, although they all looked the same. Tostadas and tacos all sort of look the same after a while. I ended up eating some of the best tacos I've ever had. We finished up just in time to head back to Matt & Katy's neighborhood where Katy & I treated ourselves to mani/pedis and fit in a nap before we headed over to Marc & Busy's for dinner.
